Mr. Lewis is a founding partner of Allen & Lewis, PLC, and has noted experience with intervention and other complex procedural challenges that often attend such litigation. His experience as a senior claims representative with State Farm Automobile Insurance Company prior to law school helps Mr. Lewis bring a unique perspective and hands-on understanding to the industry in his representation of Allen & Lewis, PLC, clients.

Mr. Lewis has spoken on insurance coverage and bad-faith topics for the Maricopa County Bar Association, as well as at continuing legal education seminars, and at private seminars for the firm’s clients. He is often called upon to present on trial strategy, ethics, and other litigation topics for a wide variety of industry associations.

Mr. Lewis was born in Grand Junction, CO, and grew up in Valdez, AK. He has lived in Arizona since 1984. He is married with two children.

Presentations and Publications

Mr. Lewis has served as an articles editor for the Arizona Law Review and has also assisted the Defense Research Institute with a compendium on unfair claims practices.

He authored “The Physical Contact Rule for Uninsured Motorist Coverage in Arizona: Where We Were, Where We Are, and Where We Ought to Be,” 36 Arizona Law Review 1033 (1994). In his authored piece, Mr. Lewis analyzed in detail, problems associated with Arizona’s Uninsured Motorist Statute §20.259.01, and recommended amendment of the statute to preclude fraudulent insurance claims. In 1998, the Arizona State Legislature amended the statute, making changes similar to those recommended by Mr. Lewis.

Mr. Lewis has also assisted the Defense Research Institute with a compendium on unfair claims practices.
